The camera of director Bassel Al-Khatib has moved to Aleppo to complete the shooting of his new series “The Guardian of Jerusalem, Archbishop Kabuchi” produced by the General Organization for Radio and Television Production within the project “Bread of Life”.
SANA's camera visited the filming site in the Franciscan Church and met the director Khatib, who explained that the scenes of photography in Aleppo include the stages of the childhood of Bishop Kabuchi, where he was born and lived for a long time in addition to scenes related to Jerusalem and some religious sites in Rome, which found places similar to Aleppo.
This work, according to its director, is the first in Syrian and Arabic drama, in which the main and central figure is a Christian cleric, considering it a new step by presenting a figure of this kind to the Arab public and highlighting the life of this bishop and introducing the new generation to it, especially since he gave a lot to Syria, especially in the period of The war against him was instrumental in supporting the Syrians wishing to offer something worthy of the achievements of this great man.
Algerian artist Sabah Al-Jazairi pointed out that she embodies the role of a Lebanese girl named Muntaha who is helping the bishop and was sent to Italy, where Bishop Kubuchi was exiled and lived in a monastery there.
In turn, actress Ghalia Tabaa explained that she represents the role of an Italian girl who recognizes the bishop and lives a period beside him, expressing her happiness to participate in this series, which tells a wonderful story about the life of Bishop Capuchi.
The work follows the biography of Bishop Hilarion Kabuchi, born in Aleppo in 1922, who became Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Jerusalem in 1965 and played a major role in the service of the Palestinian cause until he was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in 1974 on charges of smuggling weapons to the Palestinian resistance to take away the impact to Rome and spend the rest of the His life there without abandoning his national and religious role, which is anti-occupation and supportive of the Palestinian cause and his homeland Syria in its struggle against the occupation and its agents until his death in 2017 at the age of 94 years.
Archbishop Kabouchi's character is played by the great artist Rachid Assaf. Sabah Al Jazairi, Salim Sabri, Nadine Kaddour, Susana Elwaz, Ruba Al Halabi, Sawsan Abu Afar, Gemma Driousi, Jamal Nassar and others are participating in the championship.
