(CNN) - Many travelers become creative with luggage, whether they sit in their suitcase to try to close it or arrive at the airport with three coats.

But travel journalist Rebecca Andrews took packing tricks to a completely different level when she created a false pregnancy bump with clothes and a laptop charger that couldn't fit in her purse, all in an attempt to avoid paying for Overweight in luggage.

"I have a thin build and decided that pretending to be pregnant was the most credible route to a successful trick," Andrews told CNN Travel.

“But in all seriousness, I think it's the most lazy idea I've had: a woman's body can create human life, so exploiting this unique ability we have to save me $ 60 was simply obvious. It's a pretty uncreative trick, really. ”

Before boarding his Australian domestic flight with Jetstar, Andrews also slid his laptop down the back of his overall. He had already gone through security, so he thought it was a safe bet.

She put several layers on top.

It was the laptop that gave her away: an air administrator noticed that she was standing out of Andrews' jacket and, after all, had to pay $ 60 for overweight hand luggage.

“Was I ashamed? Not at all, ”says Andrews. “I felt amazing. A sexy girl, rude and pregnant. ”

Travel scams

This was not Andrews' first adventure. A frequent traveler, Andrews told CNN Travel that she has dressed "double and triple layer many times and has definitely had a false pregnancy here and there."

This was the first time he incorporated the laptop into the facade.

Andrews refuses to feel guilty for his subterfuge.

"I think a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body, even to pretend a pregnancy made with laptop cables," he says.

His only regret was to have confessed: "I should have had a backup story in case they arrested me."

Since posting about the experience on Instagram, Andrews has been contacted by people around the world.

"I think it is because it is very identifiable, because it is an obstacle when traveling," she says.

There have been several similar stories circulating online in the past, including one in the Daily Mail , in which James McElvar, a member of a boy band who reportedly fainted from heat exhaustion by using each cap.

So perhaps it is better that you only register your luggage and avoid doing elaborate tricks to avoid paying for your luggage.
