The Directorate of Agriculture of Quneitra estimated the governorate's production of the olive crop for the current agricultural season at about 8190 tons of the total cultivated areas, amounting to about 5036 hectares.
The Director of Agriculture, Hussein Sallan, told SANA today that the total area planted with olives is about 5036 hectares, of which 4444 hectares are rainfed.
He pointed out that the cultivation of olive trees received a high demand among farmers, especially in the central and northern sectors of the province because of the nature of the weather suitable for this planting.
