The Directorate of Environment in Homs, in cooperation with the Directorates of Agriculture and Tourism, carried out an afforestation campaign in Wadi Al-Nadari area entitled (We are all concerned).
Eng. Talal Al-Ali, Director of the Environment, told SANA that the partnership and cooperation between the concerned directorates will contribute to the restoration of vegetation to the villages of Wadi Al-Nadhari which were exposed to fires.
Eng. Tawfiq Al-Hassan, Assistant to the Director of Agriculture, pointed out that the campaign of afforestation of the whole area was launched since the first of this month. 300 forest trees in Zwaitina area of 10 dunums of oak and laurel trees.
Al-Hassan pointed out that the afforestation campaign will continue until the cultivation of all the scorched lands and the restoration of the vegetation, noting that there are about 175 dunums of these lands are natural forests that renew themselves automatically from the rainy season.
Eng. Ahmed Akash, Director of Tourism in Homs, pointed out that the Directorate of Tourism participated in the afforestation campaign, considering that Wadi Al-Nadari is an important tourist area in Syria where everyone must be involved in restoring life to those lands damaged by fires.
