(CNN Spanish) - The massacre of a Mormon family of Mexican and American nationality in the state of Sonora, on the northern border of Mexico, generated outrage over the violence that does not cease in that country.

Alex LeBarón, a member of the Mormon community family, said that among the "burned alive" were three women, four young children and two babies.

The outrage has not been expected and many have condemned the violence and in some cases ask President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to act to stop barbarism.

Thus they reacted in Mexico to this massacre.

The president of Mexico said this morning in his morning press conference that the country "is still suffering from this irresponsibility," referring to the security strategy of former president Felipe Calderón (2006-2012).

"We are still suffering from that irresponsibility," said AMLO. “Although those who applied that failed strategy want us to continue with the same, it is a resounding no. Of course it is very painful, of course we want this not to happen, but we do not think that riddling, massacred with the use of force with blood and fire, the problem is solved. ”

Former President Felipe Calderón responded to AMLO this morning saying that the government must "stop justifying itself and assume its responsibility."

“It's almost 1 year in power. As promised, stop blaming others and take charge of your own government. Begin to govern, the terrible facts of Sonora, and those of the whole country, are now your responsibility, ”Calderón said on Twitter.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said that it is time for Mexico to free a war against drug cartels with the help of Mexico and "erase them from the face of the earth."

This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth. We merely await a call from your great new president!

However, AMLO said that this issue will be treated by Mexico.

“This is an issue that corresponds to us to attend, to the Mexican government, independently and to assert our sovereignty,” said the Mexican president. "We thank President Trump very much to any foreign government that wants to help but in these cases we have to act independently in accordance with our constitution and tradition of independence and sovereignty."

The governor of Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich, said she felt “courage, repudiation and deep pain” for the tragedy, and said she will collaborate so that the crime does not go unpunished and those responsible pay.

As a mother I feel courage, repudiation and a deep pain for the cowards made in the mountains between Sonora and Chihuahua. I don't know what kind of monsters dare to hurt women and children. As Governor all my collaboration so that it does not go unpunished and those responsible pay.

A spokesman for the US State Department responded to reports of the massacre by saying that the US government is aware of the situation.

“The safety and well-being of US citizens abroad is one of the main priorities of the State Department. When a US citizen is missing or dies abroad, we contact local officials at multiple levels and provide all appropriate consular assistance, ”the spokesman told CNN.

Sonora's senator, Lilly Téllez, said that “the massacre in Sonora cannot go unpunished. We live in terror, from mourning to mourning. ”

The US ambassador to Mexico, Christopher Landau, said early Tuesday that he is following the situation in the mountains between Sonora and Chihuahua very closely.

The security of our nationals is our top priority. I am following the situation in the mountains between Sonora and Chihuahua very closely.

Other opinion leaders also asked for results and that AMLO assume responsibilities:

The Mexican actor Gael García Bernal asked the López Obrador Government to assume responsibility for the violence and "do the impossible so that this does not happen anymore."

“If the government and Lopez Obrador de narrativa do not change to assume their responsibilities, why do we vote for you? It is better that they assume their responsibility completely and do the impossible so that this does not happen anymore. Let his mantra and his goal become. ”

If the government and narrative @lopezobrador_ do not change to assume their responsibilities, why the fuck do we vote for you? It is better that they assume their responsibility completely and do the impossible so that this does not happen anymore. Let her mantra and her goal become.

Here the Mx that @lopezobrador_ cannot see while investigating bots, intimidates journalists and distracts with threatening but imaginary coups. Here the real country of those who are dying and need a functional State that protects them. Here leadership is urgent, not distracting https://t.co/7wCxbFUkzY

After offering immediate security results, Amlo asked after six months. Now ask for a year. What remains to be answered is from what date it will be responsible for the results, without attributing them to Calderón and Peña. That has not specified.

And now, after the massacre of the LeBaron family, could we already point out that the security strategy has failed and needs to be changed or what else do they need?
