Damascus, (SANA) - The members of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus seized a warehouse in Baghdad Street area

The elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus seized a warehouse in Baghdad Street area containing more than six tons of expired Kashkaval cheese and unfit for human consumption.

Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus, Uday Shibli, told SANA that the material is rented from a governorate Hama and the owner of the process of cheating and forgery by removing the original labels of cheese and the development of new labels for different brands, including "Kanani, Shamana, Ebla and the plain of green and sacrifice" in addition to setting multiple dates of validity to sell in the markets as fresh.

Shibley said that these brands are not registered in the ministry and contrary to the provisions of the law, stressing that the seizure of the entire quantity and found after the withdrawal of samples from them and the analysis of bacterial and chemical violations.

The consumer protection elements took all legal procedures related to their work and the violator was referred to the competent court to complete the procedures.
