The Green Lord Mayor Boris Palmer got into a quarrel with a student in Tübingen at night. The district court now set the fine proceedings against the man.

Legal defeat for Tübingen's Lord Mayor Boris Palmer. The district court seized the fine proceedings for disturbing the peace against a student, with whom the Green politician in November last year was clashed at night.

Palmer had argued with the man and his companion in the center of Tübingen. According to the Lord Mayor, the student is said to have insulted him and to have behaved loud and aggressive. The city of Tübingen issued on Palmer's endeavor a fine notice against the man, among other things, for nocturnal disturbance.

The court now adjourned the fine proceedings against the student. According to his lawyer Sandra Ebert, he should have paid 113.50 euros. The district court has not yet decided on a claim for injunctive relief of its client against Palmer. The Lord Mayor allegedly defamed him on Facebook.

Palmer said after the announcement of the court order: "What I experienced that night was a disrespect and disregard for the office and the person a company should not just shrug." Why the court considers the prosecution of the offenses to be unreasonable without reason is incomprehensible.
