The Solid Waste Department in the Technical Services Directorate in Homs has completed a project to find an alternative way of transporting garbage inside the waste stations through the manufacture of transport vehicles with local expertise amounting to approximately 108 million Syrian pounds.

The director of technical services in Homs, Engineer Amin Al-Essa told SANA that the project aims to find alternatives to cars with hooks currently existing, which cost more than 70 million pounds and have been subjected to technical failures and can not be maintained and spare parts.

Al-Essa pointed out that the project implemented 18 vehicles in the same way in the stations of Sadad, Kurds Dasneh, Tarin, Raqama, Hodeidah and Sharqliya, while the implementation of the work continues in the stations (Homs and Tdhab).

For his part, Engineer Mohamed Shalhoub said that the project is considered the first of its kind in Syria and has been studied and prepared technical conditions with expertise from the solid waste department in Homs and obtained the approval of the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment has been implemented and will achieve financial savings on the Directorate because the cost of one vehicle up to 6 million pounds It is carrying out the work of a vehicle priced 70 million pounds.
