Iranian Revolutionary Guards spokesman Brigadier-General Ramadan Sharif announced the arrest of those responsible for the recent riots and chaos in the provinces of Alborz, Tehran and Shiraz.
Sharif said in a speech today that the supporters of the former monarchy and the hypocrites of the terrorists created through the use of some villains and hooligans in order to disturb the security of society and damage public funds has initiated the American Zionist European bloc to support the troublemakers with money and weapons.
Sharif explained that the large and small events under the pretext of high gasoline prices were controlled and calm within 72 hours, thanks to the efforts of police forces, security forces and armed forces.The arrest of riot heads has calmed the situation in many provinces including Alborz, Tehran and Shiraz.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani yesterday confirmed the involvement of groups of the so-called "People's Mujahedeen Organization" and the enemies of the revolution riots in Iranian cities recently.
