The MPFA stated that it has been approved by the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) to become an executive committee for a two-year term beginning on January 1 next year.

The authorities said that they are very honored to be a member of the Executive Committee. The spokesman said that IOPS is a high-level organization for the exchange and development of regulatory standards by private pension regulators around the world. Through active participation in IOPS, the MPFA can help the MPFA to grasp the latest developments in global private pensions and improve the continuity of the MPF system in Hong Kong. The organization currently has 87 members and observers from 77 countries and territories and has been working closely with other international organizations involved in pension regulation, policy development and discussion, such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the World Bank.
