TEHRAN - Iran will not allow Washington to halt its development process, Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azri Jahrami said.
"I am not the only member of the banned club," Jahrami said in a tweet on Twitter in response to the US Treasury's decision to ban it. "The ban has also been imposed on startups, developmentists, cancer patients and sick children."
"I will continue my efforts to support free access to the Internet and I will not allow the United States to stop the development of Iran," Jahrami said, referring to the return of Internet service to the Iranian capital, Tehran, after a weeklong break in riots in several Iranian cities.
The US Treasury Department earlier imposed a ban on the Iranian Minister of Communications as another step in the context of US economic terrorism against the Iranian people.
