Daraa-Sana
The water started gradually gathering in Al-Mzeireb Lake in the western countryside of Daraa after it was completely dried and out of service during the last period.
The water level in Lake Almazireb has declined during the past years as a result of encroachments and drilling of illegal and random wells in the vicinity of the lake, which is the most important water sources and the most prominent tourist destinations in the province of Daraa.
Director of Water Resources Eng. Munir Al-Odeh said in a statement to SANA reporter that the over-depletion of the water in the Muzerib fountains during the crisis led to the complete drying of the lake and the cessation of all drinking water projects on it and replacing it with alternative projects, noting that some springs of Daraa have become seasonal as a result of the over-depletion of water.
Al-Odah stressed that some leachates and water gatherings are beginning to appear in the lake floor and will return to the previous period within a month.
It is noteworthy that Lake Almuzireb covers an area of 105 thousand square meters and is one of the most popular tourist sites in the province of Daraa.
