The Ministry of Culture launches its annual anniversary celebration with various exhibitions and honoring 13 creators

Damascus, (SANA) - An integrated cultural scene that reflects Syrian cultural and intellectual diversity has been presented to the public by the Ministry of Culture

An integrated cultural scene reflecting the cultural and intellectual diversity of Syria, the Ministry of Culture has worked to present it to the public within the activities of the Culture Day, which is celebrated by the Ministry on this day annually on the occasion of the sixty-one years of its founding through a variety of events that gathered plastic art, theater, cinema, writers and honoring a group of creators.

The event, titled “Culture is a Memory of a Homeland”, opened with an artistic concert at the Opera House Theater. Its integrated program sought to present the vibrant Syrian cultural scene, which includes an exhibition of antiquities, another for the pioneers of Syrian plastic art, a live painting for young artists and a special pavilion of the General Organization for Cinema. In addition to the presentation of the most important cinematic books and posters on the most important plays presented by the Directorate of Theaters and Music for 2019 in addition to the exhibition bearing the name of the year for the most important events presented by the Ministry of Culture last year.

Minister of Culture Mohammad Al-Ahmad stressed in his opening speech that Syria is the land of civilization that endowed the world with the first seeds of culture and the first alphabet, stressing the role of cultural, media and educational institutions in establishing and enlightening the enlightened human thought free from illusions and deepening all that would take us into a wider and brighter world.

Thirteen creators from Syria and Arab and foreign countries were honored this year for their role in spreading creativity and defending Syria in wartime. Dr. Ratib Sukkar pointed out that honoring the Ministry of Culture is honoring the official administrative body and sponsor of the activity of thousands of intellectuals, writers and artists who form a team that holds the conscience of the social advancement of our intellectual and spiritual life.

The play Mamdouh Atrash felt that the honor holds the creator responsible for increasing his tender in order to serve the country and the country and parents, a civilized state experienced by the Syrian artist to increase creativity.
