In the evening, a number of rallies were held in support of PolyU's left-behind and arrested persons, including the "Fathers and Mothers to Gather You" event in Chater Garden, Central, and the Hong Kong Bill of Rights and Democracy Thanksgiving Rally in Edinburgh Square. At about 10 pm on Chater Road, Central, several riot police officers were present at the scene to intercept and arrest a man wearing a mask at the scene. According to the scene, the police officer said that the man had a laser pen in his possession. A large number of citizens at the scene surrounded the riot police officers. Some riot police officers held pepper spray and pointed at the people. The riot police officers then boarded the car on Connaught Road Central and left near the Mandarin Hotel on Connaught Road. Someone blocked the road with ice cream cones and gathered the citizens to disperse in an upward direction.
Many riot police officers arrived at Connaught Road outside near Universal Building again at about 10.30 pm. However, the people who had gathered on the sidewalk had already left, and about 30 others clamored at the overpass location of the Exchange Square. It rushed onto the flyover, patrolled the flyover, and then returned underground. A woman took a cell phone to shoot a police officer, and called the police officer "You are back in the Greater Bay Area!" By 11:00 pm, riot police officers returned to the police car and left.
