A Class 4 fire broke out in Tsuen Wan. At 9:16 pm today (28th), a fire broke out at a site at the junction of Tai Chung Road and Pak Tin Ba Street. After 19 minutes, the fire escalated the fire to Level 3; until 11:11 pm, it was upgraded to Level 4; As of Friday (29th) at 2:53 am, the fire was largely surrounded; it was under control at 3:32 am; it was only extinguished at about 4.30 am.

Smoke from the fire site was densely covered with flames from time to time, and adjacent buildings were shrouded in smoke. Firemen used six hoses, six breathing apparatus teams to rescue them, and four ambulances were on standby. The news at the scene said that the fire site currently has a three-story basement. The first fire broke out inside the fire. Firefighters needed to set up a ladder to fight the fire. Fortunately, no one was trapped in the site and no casualties were reported.

At about 4.30 am, the Deputy Chief Fire Officer (South New Territories) of the Fire Services Department, Huang Zhongfu, explained the details of the fire alarm. He pointed out that after receiving the report at 9:16 last night, the personnel arrived at the scene two minutes later and found that the fire was spreading rapidly. Then he upgraded the fire to level 3 at 9:35. Due to the large amount of construction materials stored on the site, in order to increase manpower rescue, the fire alarm was upgraded to level 4 until 11:11 pm. During the fire alarm, the Fire Services Department dispatched a total of 116 firefighters, including a pyrotechnic task force, 33 fire trucks, and 4 ambulances, and used 6 fire hoses and 6 smoke cap teams to rescue them.

As of 2:53 am on Friday (29th), the fire was surrounded; the fire was under control at 3.32 am; it was roughly extinguished by 4.30 am. Huang Zhongfu said that the site is a commercial building under construction with a three-story basement, and the fire site is located on the first and second floors of the basement, with an area of ​​about 25 meters by 65 meters. Due to the complex site environment, dense smoke, and a large amount of construction materials, especially the first floor of the basement has a large number of iron frames and wooden boards to support it, firefighters encountered great difficulties when entering the fire scene, and at the same time hindered fire fighting and rescue work. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
