The 28 District Council members-designate stated this afternoon (28th) that the unidentified gas incident severely affected residents in the area and caused discomfort to many people. Government departments must not turn a deaf ear, take careless actions, or evade responsibilities. Urge relevant departments to seriously investigate the cause of the incident and explain the incident to the public.

One of the co-signers, Wang Deyuan, Tuen Mun Community Network candidate, who is a member of the Tuen Mun Liang Scenic Area. He pointed out that many neighbours still remember the incident, and from time to time during the election, neighbours asked him to follow up the incident with the district council. Wang Deyuan questioned that the incident may be related to the Qingshan shooting range. He said that on the day of the incident, he had broadcast live in Liangjing to find the source of the pungent odor. At that time, he passed the Xinhui Chamber of Commerce Middle School, next to Liangjing Houshan, and had heard a lot of loud noises. He explained that since Liangjing Houshan belongs to the Qingshan shooting range, it cannot be ruled out that the incident is related to Qingshan shooting range.
However, multiple government departments have responded to the incident. Police have clarified that no tear gas was used in Tuen Mun during the day; the Fire Services Department had conducted an investigation in the area and later stated that no unusual smell was found.

One month since the unknown gas hit Tuen Mun, no source has been found. Zhang Kesen, another co-signer and Tuen Mun San Hui District Council candidate-appointed "Tunjie Community", pointed out that many voters have expectations for the election of new district members, especially many voters who voted because of political factors. Zhang Kesen believes that from time to time, some people have criticized democrats for "only focusing on politics and not on people's livelihood." He believes that the 1028 incident is related to people's livelihood. He pointed out that he had received nearly 400 responses from Tuen Mun Neighbourhood when he set up a folk database. Among them, parents reported that the children in the family had a rash all over the body, and some women became black due to menstrual blood. He quoted the data as saying, "Traditional Chinese medicine is very poorly conditioned, and the incident has long-term health effects."
Democrats account for more than half of Tuen Mun District Council and set up working group
Democrats won more than half of the Tuen Mun District Council on Sunday. Zhang Kesen criticized the incumbent district board members for failing to follow up on the incident, "even helping the government escort, it is air pollution." He expects to have a working group at the district council level after taking office. He explained that through the functions of the District Councils, officers of the police, fire station and environmental protection department were summoned to publicly disclose the information they had at the same day to reorganize and investigate the unknown gas incident.
