Moscow-Sana
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) member states to question experts who questioned the credibility of the OPCW mission's findings on the alleged chemical attack in Douma, Damascus countryside.
Leaked documents had previously indicated that former employees of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons had questioned the results of the report of the Organization on the alleged chemical attack in Douma.
"We count on the leadership of the OPCW Technical Secretariat to provide an opportunity for UNMEE experts who participated in the investigation to answer questions posed by OPCW member states," Zakharova told a news conference in Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed on the 8th of this month that there are serious shortcomings in the activities of the fact-finding mission on the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria, pointing out that this is a violation of the high standards of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
