An actual month in prison for service work, this is the punishment sentenced by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court with me Ramlin for the husband who attacked his wife as she did not respond to his request to wash her underwear.

In the past, he had already been convicted three times in two years for the offense of assaulting his first wife, and in all cases was given a suspended sentence.

According to the indictment in which the husband was convicted, the incident occurred when the couple returned to their home, a week after giving birth in cesarean, and the sutures had not yet been removed from the woman's body so she had difficulty walking. The husband poured liquid on his wife for staining, because he was angry that she did not respond to his request that she manually wash underwear that became dirty at birth.

"Hurt the integrity of her body"

In the sentencing, Judge Itai Harmlin wrote: "The defendant's actions violated his wife's human dignity, integrity, and right to peace of mind. The violence and injury to the body in this case were very minor, but the defendant's actions were a significant element of his wife's humiliation and indifference to her health." In the arguments for the punishment, the defense counsel argued that the appropriate punishment for the acts was a suspended sentence, due to the fact that after the indictment was filed, the defendant "integrated" his initiative into treatment groups.

The defendant spoke to the court and said: "I didn't hit her, maybe she found a scratch." In the end, the judge sentenced him to one month in prison, to serve in public service and three months' probation for three years. "The combination of the slightest degree of violence, the large amount of time elapsed and the improvement of the couple's relationship since the case, has led in the vast majority of cases to the suspended sentence," Judge Harmlin wrote in sentencing, adding: "However, the combination of three previous convictions in the same offense with failure to ־ A complete understanding of the wrongfulness of the acts, expressed in expressing grief or remorse for them, requires that the defendant impose a penalty which is not at the bottom of the appropriate penalty area.
