(CNN Spanish) - The dismissal of the ambassador of Juan Guaidó in Colombia, Humberto Calderón Berti, accelerated a process that was already public, related to the purification of some factors of the Venezuelan opposition, apparently touched by the poison of corruption. I hope that Calderón Berti does not have presidential aspirations because it would hurt to see him at the service of the ruling party.

Today there is a scandal involving parliamentary deputies and the fact is still shameful. But the serious thing is the message that the ordinary citizen receives, that he longs for a change and that he has placed his trust in the opposition, as well as the international community that gives so much support to the cause and now he cannot understand all this.

Attacking Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly and recognized as interim president for more than 50 countries, on the eve of a parliamentary election is an unfair act - and I say this recognizing that it is not for me the right person for that position. But it is unacceptable to discard it now, after so much sacrifice.

The serious and majority sector of the Venezuelan opposition has been sounding alarms and investigating things for some time now; they never tried to sweep the trash under the carpet. These circumstances should not break the moral values of a vast majority of Venezuelans, including politicians who have sacrificed decades to seek change. The failure of Guaidó would represent the loss of the hopes of the majority.

In Venezuela, the struggle has been asymmetrical and those who govern have only one goal: to maintain power. Today they still have many financial resources. They have known who to penetrate. It is not a secret that in the opposition there are some “protected” who do not seem to be attacked by the government, their political parties are legalized, they have no restrictions to travel, etc., but they forget that happiness will last as long as they do not represent a threat to the Maduro sector. That "grupete" will go down in history unfortunately. The regime, with their help, aims to exhibit a facade of democracy that does not exist, nor will exist.

I am absolutely clear about something: the cleanliness in the opposition must have the government of the questioned President Nicolás Maduro very worried, because the locked cats will jump.

There is an indignant country that will not give truce until democracy is achieved.

Juan Guaidó
