A group of children with disabilities benefiting from the services of the Syrian Society for Social Development in Tartous today performed a series of artistic and poetic dances and dancing and singing in the hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Banias on the occasion of the International Day of Disability.

The celebration titled “I am capable” started with an awareness video titled “Journey of the Society's Activities”, “Boutros Al Sayegh” and “Nour El Deen Mohamed”. Event Coordinator Hala Rahal explained in a statement to SANA that the purpose of the activity is to support children with disabilities and help integrate them into society and to introduce the skills of some of them who have proved during the work of the volunteer team with them that they are capable of production and self-reliance through a range of works and handicrafts.

The ceremony was accompanied by a special exhibition for the works of children with disabilities benefiting from the services of the society's 12 children, which includes a group of handicrafts, accessories and recycling works they carried out during the rehabilitation sessions carried out by the volunteer team.

Rana Aqeel, the exhibition coordinator, said that the children carried out the work during the six-month sessions of the friendship groups within the society centers. .

The Syrian Society for Social Development in Tartous offers a variety of services for people with disabilities, including handicraft courses, mental arithmetic, education and special activities for the blind through their spoken braille, chess, laptop, mobile, intellectual development activities and life skills.
