Thousands of French continued to strike for a second day in protest at President Emmanuel Macron's government plans to amend the country's pension law, causing chaos in the transport sector, school closures and a shortage of hospital staff.

The application of Steyadin Traffic revealed that the traffic jam extended over a distance of 350 kilometers in total caused the closure of the main roads in and around the capital where many of the passengers were forced to use their cars.
Rail workers continued their strike today as unions at RATP, the Paris bus and subway service company, confirmed the strike would continue until Monday with the possibility of extension.
The French police arrested yesterday dozens of demonstrators in the capital Paris after clashes between security forces and demonstrators during the protests.
French workers went on strike in all sectors, including transportation, education, industry, trade and others, to protest the country's new pension system, after a year of popular protests led by the yellow jackets movement to denounce President Emmanuel Macron's economic policies.
