(CNN Spanish) - Recent surveys published in Colombia and Chile show a drop in the approval figures of presidents Iván Duque and Sebastián Piñera, at a critical moment, when millions of citizens in their countries have come out to demonstrate against their governments.

After weeks of protests in Colombia, President Iván Duque reaches 70% disapproval and 24% approval, his highest point in just 15 months of government, according to the most recent Invamer Gallup survey. In the last thirty years, no Colombian president had had such a high disapproval in his first fifteen months of government.

This survey is published in the middle of a situation of three national strikes in two weeks and days of mobilization against Duque's economic measures, the lack of compliance with the peace agreements, and ask for more resources for education and health, among other topics .

Duque has said that he receives the polls with humility: “I have always said that when the polls are good, you work triple, when they are not good, you work triple as well,” said the Colombian president.

In Chile, Sebastián Piñera also reached a historic peak: only 10% of Chileans approve their management and 82% of respondents disapproved of their management, according to the most recent survey of Cadem Public Square. It is, according to CNN Chile, the worst record obtained in surveys for a president after the return to democracy.

Meanwhile, El Salvador and Mexico have the presidents with the highest level of approval in the most recent surveys published in these countries.

The presidents of Venezuela and Guatemala are other of the most unpopular in Latin America, in a review of local surveys conducted by CNN in Spanish.

The figures presented in this note correspond to the most recent surveys published in each country.
