China today renewed its call on the United States to stop interfering in its internal affairs.
In a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi stressed, according to official Chinese television, that "Washington should immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and correct its mistakes in this regard."
Yang stressed that the United States violated international relations, noting in this context that the US Congress had legalized the so-called "Uighur human rights policy for 2019" and "human rights and democracy in Hong Kong for 2019".
The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced late last month that "the law signed by US President Donald Trump with the support of rioters in Hong Kong is a dangerous interference in China's internal affairs and a violation of international law and the basic standards of international relations," stressing that it is a step that represents a "blatant domination".
