Tartus-Sana
The technical workshops in the Syrian Telecom Company branch in Tartous have completed the implementation of the first phase of the project "FTTH" optical data transmission technology to deliver the Internet to homes and offices at high speeds in the Mina and Al Thawra streets in Tartus.
The engineer, Badie Wannous, the manager of the company’s branch, said in a statement to Sana’s correspondent that the number of requests to benefit from the service reached about 70 requests within the city of Tartous.
Wannous pointed out that this service ensures that the subscriber can access the Internet at speeds between 8 and 16 megabytes in real terms and without loss, as happens in the case of copper cable, explaining that the prices paid by the subscriber for this service are logical and acceptable in exchange for ensuring that he gets an actual and real internet service.
He noted that the determinants of participation in the service depend on the citizen’s desire to obtain it, as the public administration is addressed to make the necessary equipment and infrastructure and make it available to those who wish to obtain it.
