In passing the second reading of the legislation, 358 lawmakers voted in favor of the deal and 234 lawmakers voted against. Following the approval of the agreement, Johnson looks set to keep his promise "to end the vote on the Barracks until Christmas," following his victory in last week's presidential election.
Having suffered a few defeats in the previous parliament, Johnson is now enjoying the future and will face little resistance to passing the agreement that will assimilate the biggest change to the kingdom's trade policy in the last 40 years.
More than three years after British citizens voted in the referendum on the Barracks, the big uncertainty over the EU's retirement will end on January 31. "Now is the time when we move on and get rid of the old definitions of 'leaving' and 'staying,'" Johnson declared. "Now is the time to act together as one nation, one kingdom."
