NPD: Protesters prevent NPD march in Lower Saxony

2019-12-21T17:05:14.458Z

For years the NPD has been trying to establish the town of Eschede in Lower Saxony as the basis for its radical right-wing activities. Residents regularly oppose it. Now they prevented a march on the right.

Around 600 demonstrators have prevented the right-wing extremist NPD from marching in Eschede, Lower Saxony. According to the police, they blocked the road from a farm towards the village on Saturday. As a result, about ten NPD supporters had to give up trying to come down from the courtyard with their loudspeaker car. The situation remained peaceful, police said. According to a spokesman, the property that the NPD State Association of Lower Saxony bought from an NPD member in June held about 40 rights who wanted to organize a winter solstice celebration.

According to the "Cellescher Zeitung", the NPD rally was registered in November. Several intermediate rallies of about 30 minutes each were planned. The meeting should take place under the motto "Eschede's beautiful side - give home and culture a place". In addition to flags and protest signs, the neo-Nazis also wanted to move through Eschede with smoking pots and Bengali torches.

The "Südheide Network Against Right-Wing Extremism" had called for the rally against the NPD. The Celler Forum against Violence and Right-Wing Extremism and the German Federation of Trade Unions organized a meeting under the motto "Together against the Nazi meetings in Eschede".

Already in June, the retired pastor Wilfried Manneke from Unterlüß told the NDR that the sale of the property to the NPD was "not just a misleading farmer, but an organized, right-wing extremist party structure in our neighborhood. That is a new quality ".

Manneke has been fighting against the brown machinations in the district of Celle for many years with the "Netzwerk Südheide".
