Mario Iván Martínez: Romans and Spaniards adapted Christmas to pagan festivals

The actor and producer Mario Iván Martínez explains how at different historical moments the celebration of Christmas was adapted as an effort to convert pagan peoples to Christianity. Martínez comments that, since the Bible does not establish a specific date for the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, both the Romans and the Spanish centuries later in Mexico used pagan celebrations that took place in December to commemorate Christmas.
