(CNN Spanish) - Through its official channels, the Attorney General of Mexico City in coordination with the mayor of Venustiano, announced the start, this Wednesday, of the expert report to define the causes of Tuesday's fire in the market La Merced, east of the Zocalo in the Mexican capital.

The incident has so far left two dead, eight people injured and some 600 local sales affected. Preliminarily, Myriam Urzúa, secretary of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection of Mexico City, said that although you can suspect possible causes, nothing is defined yet, “we do not know yet, the prosecution has to come, you have to open a Research folder and then we'll know what happened. They also know that this may be due to a short circuit, it may be negligence or another cause that we will know after the investigation file is finished, ”he explained.

He added that in the market "there was pyrotechnics", so no scenario can be ruled out.
