I wandered in a skullcap in dozens of cities around the world, but it was the first time the Jewish marker put me in the danger zone, and it's clear that the incident I experienced last month is yet another undeniable incident. American Jewry is under attack.

Jews are attacked with cold weapons and firearms, with bare hands or blunt curses, in daylight or in the dark of night. They are attacked on the street, in the synagogues and on social networks. The eruption is not local or local. On the East Coast, on the West Coast and in between, Jews are in danger only because they are Jews. That was not the case in America ten years ago, but that is certainly the reality of the day. There is no point in pretending.

The even worse news is that we are only at the beginning of the wave. This happened in Spain and Germany, Egypt and England, Poland and Russia, Portugal and Iraq, and so on. After the golden age comes the hatred. This is the order of events that awaits our brothers and us in the U.S. It is the Jewish fate that only Zionism has offered an alternative to.

From poverty and poverty in slums, Jewish immigrant descendants have climbed to all key positions in the US - politics, media, business, culture, technology. At this point, the past teaches, hatred is evolving. Until the reality hit.

US Jews, sadly, are sitting on the volcano's mouth. The first shards of bubbling lava signal the great eruption to come. Maybe in five years, and maybe fifty, maybe in a series of shooting incidents or a wave of riots in neighborhoods, maybe in synagogues or centers. The Jewish community, maybe in educational institutions and maybe in the streets, American Jewry is in danger, it's time for us to open our eyes and draw conclusions.
