(CNN) - Actress Anna Kendrick finally responded after a hockey player sent her a message on Christmas, and basically everyone on Twitter supported her.
We have all received (or sent) risky text messages at Christmas. But New York Islanders player Anthony Beauvillier took a different approach when he sent a simple tweet to the void.

His tweet - "Hello @ AnnaKendrick47" - began a wave of messages towards Kendrick, praising Beauvillier, 22, hoping to get the actress's attention.

“He was taking care of ALL THE ANIMAL SHELTER last week. Without a doubt, a real guy, ”wrote the Twitter user CD.
"Thank you for performing open heart surgery on my man," wrote user Chris Genovese. "I appreciate."
"Hey, man, thanks for letting me use your equipment during the fundraiser you kept at the animal shelter to save the puppies," wrote user Big Heat, following with a reference to Beauvillier's big "cup."
After days of silence, Kendrick, 34, finally intervened, tweeting that the responses have been "my entertainment for the past two days."
