[Revolutionary dance sequence] The 18th HKUST old ghost returns to the community to perform a dance demonstration demonstrating a unique role ⋯

2019-12-30T16:11:07.717Z

On a certain day in December, a group of former HKUST students (hereinafter referred to as: old ghosts) climbed to the top of the Lion Rock in the dark. At dawn, the eighteenth old ghosts danced in Stonehenge. They reviewed the magnificent 2019 with dance, recorded a dance music film "Revolutionary Dance Order" and released it this morning (31st), which matched the 18-second dance short film of the PLA in Hong Kong a few days ago. Beyond the camera, the story that MV didn't tell is how the old ghosts passed the pain of the death of their brother Zhou Zile. They said that they did not want to consume Zi Le, but the master who could never graduate became the driving force to push them forward, allowing them to choose to go out in the name of the old ghost of the University of Science and Technology, to protect the equally sad and inexplicable master and sister. They reviewed the magnificent 2019 with dance, recorded a dance music film "Revolutionary Dance Order" and released it this morning (31st), which matched the 18-second dance short film of the PLA in Hong Kong a few days ago.

HKUST veteran recalls anti-revision movement with dance

The Anti-Amendment Movement spans the second half of 2019. Hong Kong people have recorded this turbulent half year in different artistic ways, such as music and video. The dance music film "Revolutionary Dance Order", which has just appeared, chooses to record the roles in the anti-revision movement with dance, in order to trace back a long period of more than 200 days. In the MV, frontline and brave protesters, first aiders, medical staff, students, teachers, reporters, etc. were all worn by the dance. Interestingly, the police on the opposite side of the conflict were absent from the MV. The old ghost of HKUST explained that "the police violent film was enough". He pointed out that the purpose of the short film is to unite the people of Hong Kong, "a lot of happy things happen, but we have to keep going."

It took two months to make the eighteenth old ghost return

A few-minute music video took more than 50 people and took two months to produce. However, the vast end-of-year plan originally originated from the "warm heating" after graduation. HKUST graduate Azu graduated early in the millennium. His college years coincided with SARS. He was the first generation of Hong Kong to wear masks to school. After graduation, Azu stayed in touch with friends who also loved dancing. After the Anti-Amendment Campaign began, everyone's topic became the distress of relatives, friends and colleagues Huang Lan confrontation. As soon as mid-October, a meal was eaten by the fire, which unexpectedly evoked the enthusiasm for dancing that year, and gradually drew on this dance plan. A spark sparked by several people unexpectedly caused a fire in Hagiwara, attracting dozens of HKUST alumni. The 18 graduates come from all walks of life, from accountants, IT people, housewives, movie companies and bank staff.

Multi-district streets and landmarks

Over the past two months, they have toured multiple landmarks to shoot short dancing videos during their spare time. Every scene from Tamar Park, Wong Tai Sin, Tsuen Wan Lennon Wall, Polytechnic University, and Lion Rock is mixed with blossoming memories. But because everyone works differently, the shooting time is never directed. They dance on the street at all times, and from time to time they watch the neighborhood.

Everyone chose to run through the film with songs familiar to everyone for half a year, from the musical "Lone Star Tears" episode "Do You Hear The People Sing", LMF "2019" to Fang Haojin "Wish", and finally danced on the Lion Rock. Rehearsal stopped for rehearsal

However, the plan was not as expected. When a group of former HKUST students gathered for their alma mater, they encountered the misfortune of the death of their master and brother. On November 8th, HKUST student Zhou Zile was seriously injured, and there were mourning activities in all districts of Hong Kong that night. The grief was inexplicable, and the rehearsal for the evening was cancelled, and some people even chose to return to their alma mater to pay their respects. For the University of Science and Technology, what is lost is a schoolmate who can never graduate.

Harry (left) said that young alumni really opened the eyes of older generations. He is still grateful for the discussion about the name of "University of Science and Technology." Just like in this campaign, the previous step of each line is unexpected. (Photo by Zeng Xuewen)

The older generation was worried that "Tukhui" avoided the title

Aren confessed not to consume Zi Le, but acknowledged that Zi Le made everyone more determined. "Can I be lazy? My hard work will change to the world, but it ’s better than nothing." Aren explained that since the group covered 18 graduates, many participants were initially worried about being affected by "Tuk Tuk". Work, so I don't want to be named as "University of Science and Technology". The fear of being unable to leave until Zi Le left, forcing everyone to cross the psychological barrier. Alumni Harry pointed out that there were six or seven younger alumni crying at the time, and the short film of lobbying everyone should be named "University of Science and Technology" to support the difficult situation of the younger brothers and sisters.

The graduates span 18 sessions, and many people lay down and dance for many years after graduation. Picking up dancing again this year, many old ghosts go to work with soreness the next day. (Photo by Zeng Xuewen)

Young alumni: 唔明 points a self-censorship for a dance

A Cho is a young alumnus in the old ghost's mouth. Ah Cho bluntly said, "I need to be shocked and self-censored when I do a dance?" For six months, people have been affected by political stances from time to time. Ah Cho frankly understands everyone's anxiety, but she thinks everyone can no longer let white terror . She cited a recently read book, On Tyranny, as saying that the first step in tyranny is to make a self-sounding noise, "You can say a word, you dare to say it yourself." The firmness of young alumni is like the sound of a horn in the mist. It accidentally encouraged the older alumni. Aren admits that Cho's spirit deserves support. "Courage can make everyone overcome fear first."

Ji Cheng leveraged to contact alumni to protect teachers and siblings

"Everyone has an impact," said Cho. She regards the plan as a "leverage" to connect different alumni, hoping to gather more HKUST students to win more for their teachers and siblings. She ridiculed that HKUST has always been regarded as "Hong Kong Pig University". She believes that it may be because the University of Science and Technology has more engineering and business majors. Many people enter the University of Science and Technology with the goal of making money, so it has long been a "cold" feeling. She pointed out that even if the death of Zi Le had triggered students to ask the principal for a dialogue, the university still looked like a parallel space-time. Therefore, she hoped that HKUST alumni could do something, "Graduates support the children", and promoted the HKUST school to ensure the safety of HKUST's adults while forcing the school to follow up the death of Zi Le.

Unforgettable full gear shooting in police car

Even though everyone is prefaced by art, the shooting process is not without risks. For example, in the second scene of the MV, when they put on a gas mask to shoot the dance of braveness in the middle of the night, they happened to be patrolled by a police car. At that time, the crowd turned off the big light, and dozens of people held their breath at the mouth of the drainage channel, the atmosphere was tense. "Become a space to bask in the sun and hear a heart booing." Aren explained that it is not that he does not trust the law, but law enforcers do not necessarily obey the law, and even hurt the citizens. 2019 is an era of dancing MVs on the streets, and everyone will worry about meeting "law enforcement".

Dawn came to the top of Lion Rock Guangfu University

In the final scene of the MV, everyone danced together at Lion Rock. The old ghosts said that many of their children and children had reached the summit for the first time. However, just as Azu did not dance for ten years, but re-stretched for the MV, it was like Harry and his children practicing with the group, and more people went to work the next day with soreness. Each has his own contribution. They just remember that on a certain day in December, everyone met in the morning to climb to the top of the Lion Rock at 5.30 in the morning and dance in the light of the sunrise.

When dawn comes, they will not only recover Hong Kong, but also the University of Science and Technology, as well as their profligate youth who danced back then. "When I was dancing, so many people were so passionate. I felt that if there were different elements of life, it would be wonderful and meaningful." Harry believes that even after growing up, society has forced itself to become a reality. You can close the door when nothing happens. " Today, the old ghosts of the University of Science and Technology return to their positions. They want to "reconcile" the University of Indifference, and to find themselves back then. "We can care about society and make a good impact."

This group of HKUST veterans believes that there are still many possibilities in the future, and it is unknown whether they will act as HKUST veterans in the future. (Photo provided by the respondent)
