(CNN Spanish) - At least 16 people deprived of liberty and five wounded left a quarrel in a prison in Cieneguillas, Zacatecas state in Mexico, reported Tuesday at the Secretary of State Public Security.
The fight began on Tuesday afternoon and after three hours, public security agents finally managed to intervene in the area of coexistence of the Regional Center for Social Reinsertion (Cerereso) Manly.
After the intervention, authorities arrested an inmate in possession of a firearm and found three more short weapons, as well as sharp objects.
The Governor of Zacatecas, Alejandro Tello, instructed the Local Coordination Group to strengthen security inside the prison, while experts from the Zacatecan Institute of Forensic Sciences and Ministerial Police lead the investigation to identify those responsible for the killings and those they introduced firearms to the prison.
