Smutrich and Shaked met; Examines running joint with the new right

Edit: Joy Fellow

Examining a joint run or a threat card on the Jewish home? Minister of National Union Minister Bezalel Smutrich met Wednesday with MK Ayelet Shaked, number 2 on the new right, and Walla! NEWS learned that during the meeting there was a possibility that Smutrich would run with Bennett and Shaked in the upcoming elections for the 23rd Knesset.

Smutrich examines the move after being politically injured as a result of the agreement signed between the Jewish home and Jewish power about a week and a half ago. In a statement released yesterday, he claimed to refuse unification with the two parties "at all costs" as he claimed "a democratic process that would renew the faith of the religious Zionist party." Smutrich made it clear that even if he were reunited with such a list she would not be sure of the blocking percentage.

Smutrich and Shaked's meeting is the first since the agreement was signed between Jewish House Speaker Rafi Peretz and Jewish Power Itamar Ben Gvir, despite the fact that the two have telephoned since then, and this possibility has been examined before. However, Smutrich may be considering this possibility to have a significant bargaining chip in future negotiations with Peretz.

In his office, they responded in response to Walla! NEWS that "Minister Smutrich supports unity as widely as possible and met with a host of parties to promote it." Shaked's office said in response: "The new right wanted independently. Shaked and Smutrich keep in touch with continuous members."

Signed a joint running agreement with almost no knowledge of Smutrich. Burst with Ben Gvir

The disconnect between Peretz and Smutrich is ongoing, and neither party is holding talks for uniting parties or running joint elections. The disconnect stems from the fact that Peretz signed an agreement for a joint run with Jewish power, almost without Smutrich's knowledge and at the expense of some of the vacancies on the list. Peretz acted like this after believing that Smutrich was working to promote with open almond primaries in religious Zionism to oust the leader of the list.

The Jewish House announced this week that they will enter the party center to approve the composition of the list for the Knesset and the unions with the parties, just a day before the lists are closed. Party officials claimed the rally was set for a later date to allow for broader reunions but this was also set following a rage directed against Peretz within the party due to the disconnection with the National Union.
