The American “Armed Violence Archive” group announced that 45 people were killed as a result of firearms violence, while 177 suicide cases were recorded across the United States on the first day of the new year.

The American magazine "Newsweek" quoted the group that collects data from 6,500 sources, including murder and self-defense, that 177 suicide cases were recorded on New Year's Day, in addition to 103 injuries, adding that three mass shootings took place on New Year's Day and that Among those killed in armed violence were three minors between 12 and 17 years old.

Shooting incidents are common in the United States, with a culture of violence spreading in American society and the right to possession of individual weapons, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries annually.

In spite of the increasing number of shootings, the increase in violence and shootings in the United States, and the debate in the American Senate, to place restrictions and controls on the spread of weapons in American society, US President Donald Trump continues his defense of the possession of weapons.
