The federal prosecutor has arrested a suspected member of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) at Frankfurt Airport.
Federal police officers caught the man with Turkish nationality on Thursday in the airport's long-distance train station, as the federal prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe said. He is now in custody.
The investigators accuse the man of managing full-time PKK regions and areas in western Germany from April 2018 to June 2019, primarily in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
He gave instructions, co-organized propaganda events and meetings and collected money - for example in the PKK region of Frankfurt / Main and the PKK region of Hesse. The age of the man was not disclosed. He is accused of membership in a foreign terrorist group.
