A man stabbed several bystanders in the Paris area before being shot by police, news agencies reported on Friday. The attack took place in the village of Villjuif, seven miles south of the capital.
Four people were reportedly stabbed and medical teams had to determine the deaths of two of them. The attacker was pursued by the police until he was shot dead.
It was also reported in several media outlets that the stabber was wearing an explosive belt, although this information was not officially confirmed. Police advised the public to stay away from the scene near the National Park.
