Woman reported that she had fever in Wuhan and had symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection

The Information Services Department replied that the Centre for Health Protection had not received any relevant notifications, but immediately contacted the hospital to follow up after learning of the case, and successfully contacted the patient and sent him to the hospital. The patient was a 20-year-old woman who reported fever-grade symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection and had visited Wuhan within 14 days before the onset of the disease. The CHP had arranged for her to be sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for further treatment.

Center for Health Protection: Doctors should report any symptoms to patients

The Center for Health Protection has strengthened the detection of pneumonia groups in Wuhan on December 31 last year, and revised the monitoring guidelines on January 3 to expand the scope of surveillance. Doctors should report any cases of fever, symptoms of acute respiratory infections, or symptoms of pneumonia and have visited Wuhan (with or without a market or seafood market) within 14 days before the onset of symptoms.

The Centre for Health Protection specifically requires private doctors and private hospitals to immediately contact the on-site health director of the Department of Health when reporting any compliance with enhanced surveillance to arrange for patients to be directly transferred to public hospitals for admission and isolation, and to implement corresponding infections while patients are waiting for transfer Control measures.
