A 40-year-old man was killed this morning (Sunday) in a car explosion that occurred on Highway 6 near the Nitzanei Oz settlement in Emek Hefer. In addition to the man, two children as young as 12 were injured in a minor to moderate condition. At this stage, the background to the incident is unclear, and police are investigating the circumstances of the case.
Samih Abdel Alcader, a senior medic in MDA, said: "We were on an administrative trip on Route 6 when we encountered the incident. We saw a vehicle with severe signs of explosion standing on the edge of the road at the exit of the interchange. Two people were walking near him, giving them medical treatment and evacuating them to the hospitals. Inside the vehicle was a man trapped unconscious, with severe systemic injury. We performed medical examinations, but we have nothing left but to determine his death. "
