The number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli occupation prisons during the past year reached more than 5500, among them women and children.
The director of the Prisoner Club in the city of Hebron, Amjad Al-Najjar, told Wafa that during the year 2019, the occupation authorities arrested more than 5,500 Palestinians, including 778 from Hebron, pointing to the presence of 40 female prisoners in the detention camps, including two women who are pregnant.
Al-Najjar indicated that about 185 children who are imprisoned by the occupation are subjected to daily physical violence, clothing stripping, food and water deprivation, and solitary confinement, pointing to the martyrdom of five prisoners, in addition to the death threat that the sick prisoners are threatening due to the inhumane occupation practices against them.
