Lattakia-Sana

The heavy rainstorms in Lattakia governorate led to the formation of torrents and bottlenecks in the rainy craters in a number of streets and neighborhoods and to the flooding of agricultural lands in the areas of Damaskro, Ras Shamra, Vedio, and the Latakia Highway and the Blue Beach Road, in addition to water entering the homes of citizens in a number of areas.

Eng. Suhail Shaheen, Associate Director of Sewerage in Lattakia, stated in a statement to SANA correspondent that the Directorate, with its cadres and mechanisms, took the necessary precautions, but the heavy rainstorms led to bottlenecks in the rainy craters and the lack of absorption of channels and lines for the large abundance, which led to a rise in the water level in a number of streets.

Shaheen pointed out that most of the areas where flooding took place through the path and roundabout of Ras Shamra, leading to the Shahrour Gas Station due to the fullness of Musa’s waterway, which constitutes a natural course of water where the concerned authorities and the mechanisms of the Directorate of Sewerage, Water Resources, Civil Defense and others worked to address these bottlenecks, stressing that cleaning the channels Phrases and bottlenecks removal are still ongoing.

And the rainstorms led yesterday to the occurrence of limited landslides that were addressed by the concerned authorities.
