Report in Mexico: A 12-year-old shot to death in a school teacher - and committed suicide
The mayor of Toulon, north of the state, said the boy entered the private school with two guns and opened fire. According to local media, four more people were injured, including children. Police and military forces arrived and the background to the incident is still unclear

A 12-year-old boy entered a school in Torun, northern Mexico, shot dead a teacher and injured at least six more before committing suicide - local media reported Friday. Jorge Zarmano, the mayor of Torun, said local television in the boy's possession had two guns when he opened fire at a private school known as Collegio Cervantes in the morning, a local clock.
Dozens of police and soldiers surrounded the school on local television channels. Some of the local media said one of the children was critically injured and feared for his life.

Although the number of homicides in Mexico has broken records over the past two years, the school incident is seen as very unusual. Last Tuesday, data released by authorities showed that more than 60,000 people had disappeared in Mexico since the start of the 2006 drug cartels. - Data that is much higher than the previous estimates that were around 40,000. In addition, more than 31,000 people were murdered in the country just last year.
