Palestine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, called on the international community to put pressure on the Israeli occupation entity and take all legal measures to prevent the implementation of its settlement plans aimed at annexing new parts of the West Bank.

In a message he sent to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council, and the President of the United Nations General Assembly reported by Wafa Agency today, Mansour pointed out that what was stated in the Israeli and American statements about illegal plans to annex lands in the occupied West Bank constituted a challenge to the will of the international community and the decisions of international legitimacy .

Mansour said: Since the beginning of 2020, the occupation authorities have continued the same destructive trends as in 2019, as they stepped up their settlement operations with the aim of annexing parts of the occupied Palestinian territory in a grave violation of international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention and the countless United Nations resolutions, including a decision Security Council No. 2334 of 2016, which calls for the occupation to immediately halt all settlement operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Mansour stressed the need to put an end to the impunity of the occupation entity, to deter its violations and to realize the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to establish its independent and sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
