After a meeting to discuss the decision of Prince Harry of England and his wife Meghan Markle to resign as members of the royal family, on Monday Queen Elizabeth II has declared that "we fully support her desire to create a new life."

Through a statement, royalty reported that “although we would have preferred them to remain members of the royal family (...) we respect and understand their desire to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valuable part of my family".

One of the issues to be resolved after the announcement of Harry and Meghan was that of financial independence that both said they sought with their decision. Today the queen has announced that "it was agreed that there will be a transition period in which the Sussex will spend time in Canada and the United Kingdom."

"These are complex issues that my family must solve, and there is still a lot of work to do, but I have asked for final decisions to be made in the next few days," Isabel added in the statement.
