Bolivian officials ask for embassy shelter (November 2019) 1:50
(CNN Spanish) - On Tuesday, the Special Force for the Fight Against Crime in Bolivia arrested the former government minister during the government of Evo Morales, Carlos Romero, who is being investigated for alleged corruption.
Romero was transferred to the headquarters of the Prosecutor to testify against the charges against him for alleged improper use of influences and breach of duties as reported by the Bolivian News Agency.
Carlos Romero has denied the accusations, and has declared himself to be a persecuted politician of the interim government of Bolivia.
A few days ago the former government minister had been transferred from his home in La Paz to a city hospital to be treated for a decompensation. It was upon leaving the health center that the security authorities transferred him to the Prosecutor's Office.
