Today, the prosecutor in Kosovo filed terrorism-related charges against an Albanian man and woman after being convicted of belonging to the terrorist organization "ISIS" in Syria.
The Associated Press quoted the Public Prosecution Office as saying in a statement that the accused entered Syria via Turkey and joined the terrorist organization "ISIS" after they left Kosovo in March 2015.
According to the prosecution, the two people were last April in a group of 110 people from Kosovo who returned from Syria and were charged with joining a terrorist organization and participating in its activities and if convicted, they will face a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
The authorities in Kosovo confirm that 30 Kosovar citizens are still supporting the activities of terrorist organizations in Syria. According to the authorities, hundreds of people have joined terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq.
