Efforts to consolidate his party - all updates:

  • Chairman of the Jewish House for Activists: "Will not give up connection with Ben Gvir"
  • CEO: "We do not violate the connection with Jewish power"
  • Meaning - in the upcoming elections, two separate parties to the right of Likud will run
  • MK Yogev as chairman of his party: "Bell is over and we will make mistakes again last year"

Jewish Home Minister Rafi Peretz spoke Tuesday with activists in his party, among others addressing the agreement of Bezalel Smutrich National Union Chairman with new right-wing leaders Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked for a joint run in the upcoming elections. To Walla! NEWS learned that Peretz rejected Bennett's demand to part with Jewish power as a condition for connecting with him, saying: "Despite all the criticisms, we are saving tens of thousands of right-wing votes. Those votes in the previous election campaign went to waste. I do not intend to forgo this connection."

If Peretz complies and Bennett does not change his demand, it means that in the upcoming elections two parties will run to the right of Likud. The first - Bennett, Shaked and Smutrich, and the second - Peretz and Ben Gvir in the United Jewish House.

Peretz's remarks were joined by his party's chief executive Nir Orbach, who wrote in an internal group that the party is preparing "to establish a bomb list of the Jewish home. We do not negotiate and the connection with Jewish power we do not violate under any circumstances. Anyone who is uncomfortable with it will have to make a personal decision with himself. "

In the face of these, other calls were also heard within the party. MK Motti Yogev, number 2 in the party, called on Peretz to renounce agreement with Ben Gvir and negotiate with Bennett, Shaked and Smutrich. In a statement he wrote: "Bell has made mistakes and made mistakes again in the past year, with parties not passing the percentage. Blocking and losing votes to the right. Despite all the parties' precipitation, we will negotiate face-to-face, not through the media, we will return to the common point we were only four months ago. "Yogev refers to the recent elections in which the New Right, the National Union and the Jewish House ran together, without Jewish power.

At the same time, in recent hours, the Jewish House has been in contact with journalist Shimon Ricklin and journalist Sarah Beck in favor of joining the party list. These contacts also took place earlier this week and have gained momentum since Smutrich's agreement with the new right.

Likud attacks Bennett: "Discover responsibility"

In the Likud, Bennett attacked for refusing a potential union with Ben Gvir, thereby forming a large party to the right. "The left unites - they are not going to lose any votes. Right now, the right must do everything to avoid losing votes. Unfortunately, Bennett wasted votes in the April election, and in the last election pushed 'power' out of his party. So we were unable to form the right government."

They also said that "as Orly Levy found herself in the same party with Tamar Zandberg of Meretz, and as Communists and Islamists joined one list, Bennett has the responsibility to formulate a technical block to save all right-wing votes. Bennett, show responsibility."

Earlier today, Smutrich and new right-wingers Bennett and Shaked agreed to run jointly in the upcoming election. The signing between the two comes a day after the new right announced that it will run independently in the upcoming elections. This is in tandem with the opening of the list of marathon submissions to the Central Election Commission, which will end tomorrow.

Contact between the parties resumed despite the announcement after Smutrich blew up negotiations with the Jewish home during the night, after allegedly failing to conclude parties to merge parties and hold future primaries.

Shaked welcomed the union, calling on the Jewish House to join, but Peretz said, he refused. "Last night, an opportunity was created to unite the right, Bennett, Smutritz and I, working together for many years, very accomplished politicians, with a lot of proven achievements and doing. We think that right now for the right-wing camp, the Jewish home, led by Rafi Peretz, will join us and march Together for a big win. Right now, you can put disagreements aside and try to reach a big union. "
