Washington-SANA: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Senate has received the decision

Washington-Sana

The Republican majority leader in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, announced that the Senate received the accusatory decision against President Donald Trump, in preparation for his trial with the intention of removing him from office.

The US House of Representatives had approved, in a vote yesterday, to refer the accusatory decision against Trump to the Senate in preparation for the start of this trial.

"The trial of Trump before the Senate will actually begin next Tuesday," AFP quoted McConnell as saying today.

The trial is being conducted under the supervision of Supreme Court President John Roberts, who will be sworn in today as President of the Parliamentary Court before the 100 members of the Senate take the constitutional oath before him as members of the jury.

Prior to signing the indictment in which the House of Representatives was charged with the President of the Republic on charges of abuse of power and obstructing the work of Congress, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said: “It is very sad and tragic for our country that the measures the President has taken to undermine our national security and his constitutional oath that he has endangered and the security of our elections endanger our leaders To this place. ”

Trump's trial comes at a critical time for his administration, as this year's presidential election fever escalates.
