IDF operations chief Maj. Gen. Aaron Haliva said Thursday that "the IDF and Israel have the best active defense of the planet."

Haliva, speaking at the National Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) summit conference, added: "Answering that Israel can give threats like cruise missiles is better than it was in Saudi Arabia. I encourage our enemies not to examine us."

Haliva addressed tensions with Iran: "The Persians invented 'chess' but I have met Jews who know how to do mats. The IDF has continued throughout the past year to prevent Iranian consolidation in the space. We struggle on six plus fronts which is Iran, these are the fronts we look at every day And especially at nights.

"The war between the wars will continue. The Russian player is very significant in the arena. There are two events here with the potential for strategic turnaround - Suleimani counterterrorism and the plan of the century. These are significant events. If you asked me seven before Suleimani's assassination if I think the US will do it "If we need to use force we will do it quickly and accurately and we will clarify the power relations to the other side."
