The patient was an 80-year-old man living in Lukwai House, Kwai Chung Village, New Territories. He had a cough on January 29 and a fever on January 30. On the same day, he went to the A & E Department of Caritas Medical Centre for treatment and admission. He reported that he had not visited medical institutions, wet markets or seafood markets during the incubation period, and had not been exposed to wildlife.
According to the information provided by the patient, he went to the Mainland via Luohu Port on the 10th for several hours last month, and then flew from Hong Kong to Tokyo, Japan on January 17th, boarded a cruise ship in Yokohama on January 20th, and arrived in Hong Kong on the 25th Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.

The Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health stated that the 80-year-old man involved in the past was in good health. He developed a cough on January 29 and a fever on January 30. He sought medical treatment at the Caritas Emergency Department on the same day and was admitted to the hospital for isolation. He has been transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital for further treatment and is now in stable condition.
The hospital previously added the "Enhanced Laboratory Surveillance" arrangement to test all inpatient pneumonia cases to reduce the occurrence of new coronavirus pneumonia occult patients in general wards. The 14th case was found under this arrangement. Respiratory tract samples confirmed a positive response to the new coronavirus, and the center has immediately launched an epidemiological investigation and contact tracing.
According to the information provided by the patient, he spent several hours in the Mainland via Luohu Port on January 10, took a flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo, Japan on January 17, and boarded a cruise ship in Yokohama on January 20, and on January 25 Arrive at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong.

The Center stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the patient had not visited medical institutions, wet markets or seafood markets during the incubation period, and had not been exposed to wildlife. The patient lives with his wife, and he travels to Japan with his two daughters. Investigations are still ongoing.
In addition, the Center for Health Protection stated that it received a notification from the National Health and Health Commission that a confirmed case in Jiangxi Province had taken a train from Wuhan, Hubei to Pingxiang, Jiangxi (T148) on January 21, and the train reported that Hong Kong residents, the center has contacted two people to arrange medical monitoring.
