Justice Minister Amir Ohana announced on Sunday that he has elected State Attorney General of the State Attorney's Office, Adv. Dan Eldad, for the post of State Attorney.
"After a long period in which I interviewed many candidates, I seriously considered their suitability and consulted with Civil Service Commissioner Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz and, as required by law, with Attorney General Dr. Abihai Mandelblit - At the time, he is Advocate Dan Eldad's economic department, "Minister Ohana said." Hopefully, the appointment will contribute to the process of strengthening public confidence in law enforcement systems. I know that this is also Advocate Eldad's goal.
The minister added: "I was impressed by the deep sense of mission that beats him, and I wish him great success in the many tasks facing the State Attorney's Office."
The Minister wanted to thank the other candidates and candidates he interviewed for the post, "for their willingness to play the important role and contribute to their experience for the important task of strengthening public trust in the system."
Adv. Eldad has been in the Prosecutor's Office for 27 years in a variety of positions - from pre-internship to the senior position he currently holds. From 2013, he is a senior member of the Prosecutor's Office as a Director of the Economic Department.
In addition, Adv. Eldad has extensive experience, especially in the criminal, but also in the security, civil, administrative and economic areas.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He taught at the Law Faculty at the University of Haifa and served as a member of the District Disciplinary Tribunal for the Bar, as a member of the committee discussing disciplinary grievances against physicians and as a member of the staff for strengthening the rule of law and purity of the local government.
During his years in the Prosecutor's Office, Adv. Eldad has ample managerial experience. Among other things, he is a graduate of the Ministry of Justice's Executive Development Program, a graduate course in management for members of the State Attorney's Office, and a fellow in the civil service's senior staff fellow program.
Adv. Eldad is also a lieutenant colonel, a graduate of the senior state intelligence course and currently serves as a reserve officer in the Military Attorney's Office as a Special Affairs Advisor.
